The Royal Society Chicheley Hall – Conference Centre

As the Royal Society celebrates its 350th anniversary this year it has launched Chicheley Hall a prestigious residential conference centre outside of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, that operates as Kavil Royal Society International Centre.

The centres prime purpose is an extension of the Royal Society’s London facilities as a centre for scientific discussion and the resolution of major scientific issues.

Outside of its scientific activity the centre is available to be hired for conference and meetings, dinners, receptions, and teambuilding activities for organisations that require a special venue and service set in attractive grounds with tranquillity.

The facilities at Chicheley Hall are extensive, 4 meeting rooms, 2 lecture halls, 47 en suite bedrooms and all set in 80 acres of grounds including lake and formal gardens.

It is refreshing to see the bedrooms do not include the traditional widescreen television, preferring to provide a relaxing environment and free wireless internet connection to support the prime objective of most guests.

The Royal Society have invested £11m in the redevelopment programme in addition to the £6.5m purchase price to create this very special conference centre that will serve us all for many years to come.

How things change, Dublin one time regarded as the stag night capital has moved on through recession to now invest for the future. Dublin has invested €10 Billion in a regeneration programme of the Spencer Dock that ajoins the Financial Services Centre alongside the wonderful river Liffey.

Combining investment with technology Dublin now has a world class Convention Centre that has a capacity for 8000 delegates with the best technical support built in to make a stunning contribution to the future prosperity of Dublin.

The new Convention Centre has been designed by the award winning architect Kevin Roche and it features a stunning glass fronted atrium running the full height of the building to provide delegates a panoramic view of the river Liffey, Dublin city and the Wicklow mountains. The Centre will open for business in September, advanced bookings already indicate that this will be a popular venue.

Dublin is also is experiencing a renewed confidence in the hotel investment industry, developing additional capacity to support the increased demand created by the Convention Centre.The other significant feature is the Dublin Hotel Rates are now flexible again and very competitive group rates are available.
